Cultural differences 2

I know that in the Polish language it is preferable to use Mr. (Mister) before a first name when getting to know somebody on an informal basis. But in English it does sound strange. If you are not sure, then you should call him Mr. Smith. Only if you feel truly confident that the introduction is informal could you then call him Brian.
