Past tense and the present perfect

Example:

Have you told him the truth?

a) Yes, I... have.

a) No, I ... haven't.

For these answers, just repeat the auxiliary verb used in the question. If necessary, if the answer begins with 'no', then put it into the negative.

b) Yes, I (tell) have told him the truth.

b) No, I (not tell) haven't told him the truth.

b) Yes, I (tell) told him the truth this morning.

For these answers, put the verb in brackets into the present perfect or the simple past tense. Sometimes both tenses are possible.
